Foxy just needed to step out of the shadow of Ruby and away she went! I suspected that is what would happen when Ruby advanced, but it was nice to be proven right. Now I will be giving them both some more advanced training so that they can compete in the intermediate shows.

I also had one of my old guys snag a major this morning, which was a huge surprise!
Hart of Majesty managed to beat out four other competitors in the Expert Three Day Event early in the month. At 24 years of age, this was a huge accomplishment. I am hoping to get him his Grand Champion status before he goes to live with the Reaper, but it has been a struggle. So getting a first was huge, but making it a 2 point major was even greater! He sure has been a great gelding to have around the farm. Now if he can just get those last 5 points.

That's great news! The horses are warming up to having you around and are ready to go!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like Foxy is simply determined to be with Ruby lol. I expect she'll shoot there to be side-by-side with Ruby again. ;)
ReplyDeleteAs an update to this, I noticed during training today that Foxy was sadly lacking in some essential things. So I caught her up to my other two BCh's and I am cross training them all in trail also. Just gives them another option for showing and it is something I have been wanting to get into, hence trying to increase the brains in my herd. ;)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your beautiful babies! I have a few that just entered into their show careers as well. Note to self, stay away from Prairie Rose Farms horses! :)
